Merriam-Webster:
To make timid or fearful : FRIGHTEN especially : to compel or deter by or as if by threat.

Cambridge:
To frighten or threaten someone, usually in order to persuade them to do something that you want them to do:

Oxford:
Frighten or overawe (someone), especially in order to make them do what one wants.

MacMillan:
To deliberately make someone feel frightened, especially so that they will do what you want

Intimidation is a favorite tool of those that persecute others, is it one of your favorite tools to control others?

Knowing what intimidation is is a good thing, but standing up against intimidation is a great thing.
